Outgoing President Holds his Final ‘Coffee With The Citizens’

URD
Croatian President Ivo Josipović, who finishes his mandate in just over a week, has held his final ‘Coffee with the Citizens’ on Saturday…

‘Coffee with the Citizens’ was an initiative introduced by Josipović’s predecessor Stipe Mesić, and it has seen more than 8,000 citizens welcomed to the president’s office for a ‘coffee’ during Josipović’s 5-year mandate.

“It has been a great pleasure to mix with the people. A lot of people who come here (for ‘Coffee with the Citizens’) either had some sort of problem, or they had achieved some sort of success. They have come here because institutes could not find an answer for their problems,” said Josipović on Saturday after his final meeting.

Josipović has held 51 ‘Coffee with the Citizens’ meetings, hosting 308 groups (7,343 people) and 703 individuals.

Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović will take over from Josipović and become the 4th President of Croatia on 19 February 2015. She is the first woman to hold the title of President of Croatia. (photo / Ured Predsjednik)
