Croatia qualifies for Euro 2024 in Germany

ZAGREB, 21 November 2023 – Croatia has qualified for Euro 2024 after beating Armenia tonight at Maksimir Stadium in Zagreb.

Coach Zlatko Dalić has now become the first coach in history to take Croatia to four major tournaments.

A goal just before the break from Ante Budimir, his second in a Croatia shirt but his first in a competitive match, gave the home side the lead.

The Osasuna striker headed home a Borna Sosa cross at the near post to put Croatia in front at the break, and although they had numerous chances in the second half to extend their lead, it would remain 1-0 on the night.

The victory means that Croatia ends up finishing second in Group D behind Turkey who drew with Wales tonight.

Euro 2024 is the 7th major tournament in a row which Croatia has qualified for. The 2010 World Cup was the last time they failed to qualify.

Croatia also earned another 9.5 million euros for qualifying tonight.

The draw for the tournament takes place on Saturday 2 December.
