The Croatian Football Federation has confirmed to UEFA that it has chosen Neuruppin as the base camp for the Croatian national team during Euro 2024, HNS said today.

The Neuruppin base camp consists of the Mark Brandenburg resort on the shores of Lake Ruppiner, along with the accompanying training field Volksparkstadion, which is just a seven-minute drive from the hotel.

On July 11, 2022, the Croatian Football Federation selected four options in each of the three Euro regions. In September of this year, a delegation from the HNS visited the chosen options.

Immediately after the final draw, which placed Croatia in the northern region, national team coach Ivica Olić, team manager Iva Olivari, and spokesperson Tomislav Pacak conducted a final inspection of the best options in the region.

In agreement with HNS President Marijan Kustić and coach Zlatko Dalić, consensus was reached that Neuruppin is the best choice for the Croatian national team.

“We always start with the duty of providing the best possible conditions for the national team, so in 2022, we began the entire process, not burdening the team’s staff with this topic before and during the qualifications. Neuruppin was rightfully one of the most sought-after camps in UEFA’s catalog, and I am pleased that our logistics have handled it excellently, surpassing many other national teams. We are excellently positioned geographically for the group stage, will have an idyllic environment, and excellent sports conditions, which are crucial for the national team,” emphasised HNS President Marijan Kustić.

Neuruppin is located 75 kilometres from the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, where Croatia opens Euro 2024 against Spain. Hamburg (225 kilometres) and Leipzig (227 kilometres), where Croatia plays against Albania and Italy, are also easily accessible by bus, so the team won’t need flights in the first round of the tournament. The Mark Brandenburg resort has an excellent fitness centre and rich recovery facilities, while the training centre with a top-notch pitch ensures privacy for the team.

“I have immense trust in the Federation’s logistics, which has been confirmed during past competitions, and we had excellent conditions from Russia to Doha. I have a very positive impression of this camp based on the detailed analysis I received because it offers exactly what we strive for – excellent sports conditions, from fitness to the training centre, and a calm, beautiful, and pleasant environment. Additionally, we are well-positioned, and we won’t lose much time on travel, so I am confident that Neuruppin is a perfect choice,” stated Croatia’s coach Zlatko Dalić.
