WTA Tennis Tournament Returning to Bol on Brač

After a 13 year break, the popular WTA tennis tournament is to return next summer to the Croatian island of Brač…

Russia’s Vera Zvonareva took out the WTA Bol on Brač tour event the last time it was held back in 2003, and now Felix Lucas has confirmed that the tournament will be making a return next summer.

“The WTA opened up this slot in the second week of Roland Garros and we saw an opportunity. We are especially happy that our young players will now get an opportunity to perform in front of the Croatian public,” Lukas told Croatian television.

The Bol Ladies Open tournament, which was first held in late April 1991 before being sold to the organisers of the Western & Southern Open and moved to Cincinnati in 2003, will end on 5 June 2016.
