The former lead guitarist of the American hard rock band Guns N’ Roses, Slash, played with Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators last night at on part of their European tour. The atmosphere in Zagreb was electric last night as Slash, wearing his trademark black cylinder hat, played a number of the hits that made him famous during his spell with Guns N’ Roses.
Slash, whose real name is Saul Hudson, achieved worldwide success in the late 1980s and early 1990s with Guns N’ Roses. Rolling Stone ranked him at No. 65 on their list of “The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time” in 2011, whilst his solo in “November Rain” was ranked No. 6 on Guitar World’s list of “The 100 Greatest Guitar Solos”. Total Guitar placed his riff in “Sweet Child o’ Mine” at No. 1 on their list of “The 100 Greatest Riffs” in 2004. In 2012 Slash was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, along with other members of Guns N’ Roses.
