Marin Čilić To Return on Monday After Ban Reduced

Croatia’s number one ranked tennis player Marin Čilić will take the court tomorrow after having his 9 month ban for doping reduced by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Čilić , who last played in June this year at Wimbledon, was suspended for nine months by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) in September for taking the stimulant nikethamide. The reduction handed down on Friday means that the former world top 10 player can play tomorrow in Paris.

“On Monday I will get my points from Queen’s back and I’ll be 31st or 32nd in the ATP rankings,” said Čilić, adding he had been “relieved of an immense weight.” Čilić is currently in Paris preparing for his return on Monday with Goran Ivanišević.
