CroatiaCroatia has been named as co-host of next year’s European Basketball Championships – EuroBasket…

The 2015 EuroBasket will be held in Croatia (Zagreb), Germany (Berlin), France (Montpellier) and Latvia (Riga), FIBA Europe confirmed from Madrid on Monday. The final knockout stages will be held in France.

“This is an important moment in the history of European basketball, as we have voted not only for the hosts of next year’s event but also on pioneering a new concept, with four hosts,” said FIBA Europe President Turgay Demirel after the decision, adding that the tournament, which will be held for the first time in its history in multiple countries, will be held from 5-20 September 2015.

The matches in Croatia will be played at Zagreb’s Arena. The last time Zagreb played host to the European Basketball Championships was in 1989.
