World Class Table Tennis Coming to Zagreb

Zagreb will host some of the world’s best table tennis players next week at the ITTF Zagreb Open…

The tournament, which will be held from 24 – 28 May 2016 at Dom Sportova, will feature 8 players currently ranked in the Top 20 in the world. World number 6 Chuang Chih Yuan from Chinese Taipei will be the tournament’s top seed, whilst other Top 10 players in Zagreb next week include Japan’s Jun Mizutani (7th) and Wong Chun Ting from Hong Kong (9th).

The women’s event will feature 6 of the world’s Top 20 players. The top seed will be world number 6 Ai Fukuhara, whilst world number 7 Feng Tianwei from Singapore and Japan’s Ito Mima (10th) will also be playing. 292 players in total from 50 countries will be competing in both the men’s and women’s section of the Zagreb Open.

“Entry will be free. Usually at tournaments like this around the world tickets start around 12 euros. Everything in Zagreb will be free, even parking on the last day,” Croatian Table Tennis Federation Director Renato Čengić said.
