[VIDEO] International Success for Film About an Album Recorded in a Zagorje Castle

IMACroatian music documentary film “Sudar u dvorcu” (Castle Clash) has won an Independent Music Award in America…

The Arsen Oremović film, which follows the making of the album by composer and pianist Matej Meštrović and the Samobor-based ensemble Sudar Percussion at the Zagorje castle Sv. Križ Začretje, won the prestigious award in the video programme – long format category.

The film, which not only tracks Meštrović, but also the lack of social care, absurdities and neglect of cultural heritage, impressed the jury which featured some famous musicians and actors such as Suzanne Vega, Meshell Ndegeocello, Shelby Lynne, Sharon Jones, Weird Al Yankovic, Chris Wood and Oliver Wood.

The Independent Music Awards (IMAs) is an international programme that honors top-ranked independent (indie) artists and releases in more than 80 Album, Song, EP, Producer, Music Video and Design categories.

The IMAs were created in 1999 by Music Resource Group (MRG). The programme receives submissions from previous major-label artists as well as self-released and indie label talent from more than 70 countries on 6 continents. The film has already been shown at a number of festivals in Croatia and abroad.
