Simmered within the confines of a dome-shaped cast-iron baking lid, Peka is the traditional one-pot dish that can only be described as the ultimate in Croatian comfort food.

The beauty of this dish is the use of no-fuss ingredients that are readily available, making it the food of the people. Although, you won’t come across a Peka that doesn’t include potatoes, onions, carrots, garlic and rosemary.

Well-known Croatian chef and star of the culinary show Tri, dva, jedan – kuhaj! Ivan Pažanin shares his Octopus Peka recipe with Sail Croatia.

Ingredients required and instructions on how to prepare the Octopus Peka on the infographic below (video underneath).
