Celebrity TV chef Gordon Ramsay spent time in Croatia last summer filming for his National Geographic series Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted.

Ramsay ventured around Istria discovering local delights like truffles and black risotto, and even had a cook-off with popular Croatian chef David Skoko and tested his Croatian language skills out with his son. The show aired over the weekend.

But when the cameras were off, Ramsay decided to use some of the truffles he went hunting for to make an elegant scrambled egg and truffle breakfast sandwich for his own YouTube channel.

“They said the Italian truffles were the best, but let me tell you, Croatia has some of the best truffles anywhere in the world,” Ramsay opens up saying.

The Scottish-born chef was impressed with the local ingredients in Istria.

“I have made scrambled eggs before, but never with such an amazing abundance of beautiful truffles. The produce locally here is second to none. Not only do we have the most amazing truffles, but also the most amazing goat’s cheeses. Pretty incredible.”
