[VIDEO] Game of Thrones Star Wins 15-Tonne Truck-Pulling Contest in Split


Icelandic professional strongman, and star of HBO series Game of Thrones, Hafthor ‘Thor’ Bjornsson, has won the truck pulling contest at the Strongman Champions League held in Split, Croatia this weekend…

The over 2-metre tall, 180 kilogram giant, who played Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane in the fourth and fifth seasons of Game of Thrones, beat 11 of the strongest men in the world in the 15-tonne truck pulling contest on Split’s western waterfront on Saturday. Bjornsson has twice won Europe’s strongest man title, and finished 3rd at the World’s Strongest Man competition this year.

A large crowd turned up to Split’s waterfront to watch the event, which is now in its second, and includes disciplines such as Car dead, Log life, Frame walk, Yoke and Conan wheel. The competition, being covered by Eurosport, ends today.
