A ‘huge honour’ for Croatian basketball player Bojan Bogdanović after passing a milestone set by his idol.
Bogdanović has been in hot form for the Brooklyn Nets at the start of the 2016-2017 NBA season which kicked off this week. The 2-metre forward has surpassed a milestone set by his idol and former Nets’ superstar Dražen Petrović.
This week Bogdanović surpassed the man considered one of Croatia’s greatest ever sportspeople for the number of three-pointers in a Nets jersey.
Bogdanović nailed his 223rd three-pointer for the Nets in their loss to the Boston Celtics, passing the late Petrović who scored 220 in his career at the Nets.
Bogdanović is starting his third season at the Nets and has played 157 games, whilst Petrović wore the Nets jersey for two and a half seasons and played 113 games.
“I can not believe that I passed him. He is possibly the greatest ever Croatian sportsman. He is one of the best ever. It is always nice to see my name in the same sentence with Dražen. It is a huge honour”, Bogdanović said.
