U.S. Open Champ Marin Čilić Gets His Own Postage Stamp

MarinCroatian Post Ltd. Mostar have issued a new postage stamp in honour of this year’s U.S. Open champion Marin Čilić…

“The idea was to convey through the stamp the great atmosphere from the court and this great victory, which made the whole of Herzegovina proud. Regardless of how simple it looks to design a postage stamp with this magnificent athlete, because of the world tournament organizers copyrights, we were deprived to show the most important elements that followed his recent success – winning the U.S. Open. Simple typography with his surname prominent and the number one, are the link to his fabulous victory,” said Shift Brand Design, the company commissioned to design the new stamps.

The commemorative postage stamp, which were issued in a sheet of 8 stamps + vignette, postmark and First Day Cover, was designed by the company’s Art director Marin Musa.
