Two Croatian players selected in Best XI in top European leagues

Two Croatian internationals have been selected in the Best XI in top European leagues named by CIES Football Observatory. 

With all the five major European leagues — England, Spain, France, Germany, France — now finished, the leading football research and education organisation has presented the best XI for each league.

Two Croatian internationals feature in two leagues – Spain’s La Liga and Italy’s Serie A. 

Luka Modrić, who helped Real Madrid to second place in La Liga this season features in the league’s Best XI.

Serie A title winner Marcelo Brozović from Inter is the only Croatian to make the league’s best XI.

Players were selected according to the CIES performance index developed using data from OptaPro. Only footballers fielded for at least two thirds of domestic league minutes were included in the line-ups.
