Scotsman Ends Cilic’s Rich Vein Of Form In America

The rich vein of form that Croatia’s number one tennis player Marin Cilic has been enjoying has come to an end in the quarter-finals of the Sony Open in Miami at the hands of US Open holder, Scot Andy Murray.

World Number 2 Murray proved too good for world number 11 Cilic, wining 6-4, 6-3 in 1 hour and 42 minutes in windy conditions.

‘He fought unbelievably well at the end, with long games and long points. I didn’t play particularly aggressively on the match points, which is something I’ll have to do better in my next match,’ said Murray after defeating the tall Croat.
