‘Falls in Autumn’, by Vedrana Tafra, who captured the beauty of Croatia’s famous Plitvice Lakes in autumn, has made the cut of the year’s top photos, and there were some fairly amazing photos taken this year.

The Top 20 photos of 2015 were taken from National Geographic’s ‘Photo of the Day’ feature.

“Each day, we bring you one photo from around National Geographic that fits our criteria for Photo of the Day – sometimes classic, sometimes quirky, always an image with a story to tell. For this year’s roundup, we looked at shares, likes, and comments from the social sphere to see which ones resonated most with you, explained National Geographic.
