CupThe search for the best amateur 5-a-side football team in Croatia kicks off later this month when the Ožujsko Cup gets underway in Pula on 17 April…

The largest ‘mali nogomet’ (small football) in Croatia will see 16 tournaments take place around the country, with a special prize on offer this year for the winners. Previous years the winners have taken away the 100,000 kuna (13,000 EUR) prize money, but this year the winning team will win an all expenses paid trip to Brazil to watch the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

“I believe that the trip to Brazil is the dream of every fan. It would be good to have as many of us there as we can. I am happy to be an ambassador for this project,” said former Croatia and Milan defender Dario Šimić at Tuesday’s press conference.

The final will be played in the Dalmatian town of Zadar on 7 June.
