Omiš Guitar Fest – Biggest Guitar Fest in the Region Set to Start

More than 250 guitarists from all over the world will gather in the town of Omiš this month for what is the biggest guitar festival in the region…

Under the auspices of the President of Croatia, the Omiš Guitar Fest will be held from 19 – 23 April 2016. Established in 2010, the aim of the festival is to promote the guitar as a musical instrument, to achieve excellence, to value education and to be a place for the world best guitarists and guitar enthusiasts to gather and enjoy their performances and lectures.

The Omiš Guitar Festival is unique because it embraces electric, acoustic and classical guitar. This year’s fest will feature some great performances, including from Carlo Marchione, Rip Lee Pryor, and Vlatko Stefanovski, displays of guitars and equipment, as well as masterclasses conducted by top guitar professors and artists.

Over the past 6 years the number of visitors attending the festival have growing rapidly, with the biggest edition set to take place this year. Well known Omiš photographer Leo Tomić has released a compilation of photos ahead of the festival. They will be exhibited at a number of cafes and restaurants in the town.
