A fresh addition to Zadar’s dining scene has opened in the heart of the old town. Pinčo Tapas & Wine Bar, located just a few minutes’ walk from the main square, Narodni trg, brings a Mediterranean twist to Spanish tapas culture — with handcrafted small plates, bold cocktails, and one of the city’s most extensive by-the-glass wine lists.

Pinčo is the brainchild of two husband-and-wife teams — the Jukić and Begonja families — who share a background in hospitality, wine, and travel.

“We wanted to create a space that feels good in every season and offers something special, without breaking the bank,” says SJ Begonja, a local travel writer from the blog Chasing the Donkey.

The kitchen is led by a chef with experience in Spanish tapas bars, and the focus is firmly on quality and freshness. Everything is made in-house — from slow-simmered sauces to every single croquette — ensuring no shortcuts or store-bought substitutions.

The croquettes are among the most popular dishes, with options like fresh cod or a spicy blend of ‘nduja and Slavonian kulen.

“We want to showcase the diversity of Croatia’s wines,” says Mate. Spanish wines will be added to the list soon.

Happy Hour runs daily from 17:00–19:00, with cocktails like the pineapple margarita and several refreshing summer spritzes available for just €6.
