Croatia loses one of its true coaching greats with the passing of Ivančić. Ivančić, who was an athlete himself, winning two European shotput golds, a Mediterranean Games gold and bronze medal, and was the oldest competitor at a World Games (45), has coached a number of the country’s top athletes.

One of Ivančić’s products is current World discus champion Sandra Perković, coaching her to European and Olympic gold.
