But that does not mean you still can’t impress locals and make a few people laugh by learning some well-known Croatian sayings or phrases.
In this series we will teach you commonly used sayings in Croatia which are not typically found in language learning material.
Today’s saying:
da padne na leđa, razbio bi nos
English: The saying da padne na leđa, razbio bi nos is used to emphasis when somebody is extremely unlucky, that no matter what they do they can not seem to have any luck. Cursed even.
The literal translation is – “If he fell on his back, he’d break his nose.”
