Croatia’s stunning rugged coastline, which includes glorious mountains and rivers, is the perfect setting for adventure events. One which will premiere this year is the grueling Dalmacija Ultra Trail…

Organised by Dalmacija Trails Association, the first Dalmacija Ultra Trail will take place across Dalmatia from 21 – 23 October 2016. Extreme runners can choose between four different routes; 20 km, 60 km, 110 km and for the real brave 165 km. There has already been a lot of interest in the event from runners from all parts of Europe.

Runners will trail through five mountains, Mosor, Kozjak, Biokovo, Omiska and Dinara, as well as passing rivers Cetina, Jadro and Žrnovnica. Athletes will also have a chance to pass through some of Dalmatia’s oldest villages and see cultural monuments and famous archaeological sites along the way.

The longest trail will start in Omiš, the 110 km race will start in Klis, the 60 km in Baška Voda and the 20 km trail will start in Dugi Rat. The Dalmacija Ultra Trail is a combination of running and walking on marked hiking trails and other roads. The event is not only open to professional athletes, but also to recreational runners and even families.
