Dirk Nowitzki’s Germany to Face Croatia at Zagreb Arena

dnA chance to see some NBA stars close up in action in Zagreb this Friday…

Croatia’s national basketball team will meet Germany at Zagreb’s Arena (21:00) in a warm-up match for the upcoming Eurobasket, which will be held in Croatia, France, Germany and Latvia from 5-20 September.

Germany arrive on Thurday to Zagreb and their best player, Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki is rated a 50-50 chance of playing at the Arena.

“Germany even without Nowitzki is an attractive opponent, but he is one of the best European players of all time,” said Croatia’s own NBA star and Nowitzki’s teammate last season Damjan Rudež.

Whilst it is unclear whether Nowitzki will start on Friday, Croatian fans will have the chance to see its own stars in action, including new NBA recruit Marijo Hezonja, and Dario Šarić, who is tipped one day to be another NBA star.
