Croatian Exporters Awards Held

CroatiaPharmaceutical company Pliva has taken out the ‘Golden Key’ awarded for the best Croatian Export Company at the 9th annual Croatian Exporters Convention on Tuesday night…

The ceremony, attended by Croatia’s Prime Minister Zoran Milanović, Finance Minister Boris Lalovac, and Entrepreneurship Minister Gordan Maras, awarded the best small, medium and large export companies in the country. This year the award for the best small-sized exporter went to military equipment producers Šestan- Busch, IT Solutions company Telegra took out the medium-sized company category, whilst Pliva won the best large company exporter award.

14 companies were also awarded for being the best exporters to individual markets such as Italy, Germany, Brazil and Japan, whilst 11 companies were awarded ‘Platinum Keys’ for their results achieved in the last year.

“In the past five years, growth of Croatian exports are among the lowest in the European Union, technological exports are lagging behind even the period of the 1980’s,” said Milanović, before adding.

“From each of our diplomats I will ask him to tell me immediately at the airport what he has done to increase Croatian exports. Exporters will have our full support.”

President of the Croatian Exporters Association Darinko Bago says that only 13% of Croatian companies export.
