Croatia jumps up FIFA world rankings after Nations League silver

Croatia has climbed to just one spot from the top five in the FIFA rankings which have been released today by football’s governing body.

Croatia is now ranked 6th in world after beating the Netherlands and reaching the UEFA Nations League final where they lost on penalties to Spain to win the silver medal.

Croatia overtook the Netherlands who were ranked one place above them before the latest rankings.

It has been a great period for Zlatko Dalić’s side, who in thee space of one year have climbed from 15th in the world to the cusp of the top five.

World Cup winners Argentina still hold the no.1 spot. World Cup runners-up France are ranked second in the world, followed by Brazil, England, Belgium and then Croatia..

Croatia’s next match will be Euro 2024 qualifier against Latvia in September.
