The Croatian Football Federation and technical partner Nike have presented the new kits of the Croatian national football team that the current bronze medalists from the World Cup in Qatar will wear in the upcoming cycle, which includes the upcoming European Championship in Germany.

The home and away kits were unveiled at a specially organised event in Zagreb where the Vatreni came to greet hundreds of loyal fans who were able to see the new kits for the first time on Croatian players, with half of the current squad wearing the home kit, and the other half wearing the away kit.

The redesigned kits, which captain Luka Modrić and his teammates will wear at the Euros in Germany, aim to continue the trend of excellent results from the last major tournaments.

On the home kit, the iconic red and white squares have become the largest to date, offering a bolder look. The inner collar reveals the Obitelj/Family logo, further reflecting unity among the Vatreni, while the outer ribbed part adds an even more pronounced modern style.

Inspired by past glory, the away jersey adds a modern twist to the classic style to remind players and fans to continue dreaming big. The angled squares on the new jersey once again pay tribute to the heroes of the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France, with the blue color matching the tones of the coat of arms and flag of the Republic of Croatia. Of course, the Obitelj/Family logo is also present on the inner collar, serving as a reminder of the great Croatian football family, HNS said.

In the making of the new kits for the Croatian national football team, Nike’s advanced Dri-FIT ADV technology was used again, and their breathable material, made from recycled plastic bottles, prevents excessive sweating and body overheating, allowing players to stay dry under the jersey from the first to the last minute.

Luka Modrić’s thoughts

“I am immensely proud to have had the privilege of wearing the Croatian jersey the most times, but I always look forward to a new set that follows our recognizable pattern. The Croatian checkers make our jersey unique, especially the primary kit this time with its large red and white squares, and I must admit that I am extremely pleased when I see this new jersey live. I also like the attractive design of the reserve jersey which, thanks to its angled squares, takes me back to 1998 and the legendary Vatreni who became an inspiration to many young footballers, including myself,” said the captain of the Croatian national team, Luka Modrić, for whom this is the ninth set of jerseys since he first played for the national team.

“Of course, we are determined in the vision that the first Croatian jersey must be in the colors of our checkers, and I like that Nike has created a new, bold, and imaginative design of that recognizable pattern, with the largest red-and-white squares ever. The jersey truly looks powerful and strong, just like our team on the field. At the same time, I am confident that the second jersey will be very popular among fans as it evokes the legendary 1998. The Vatreni jerseys always carry the strength of the Croatian identity and the traditional checkers, which awaken a strong national pride in every player and fan,” said the president of the Croatian Football Federation, Marijan Kustić.
