Croatia’s national carrier Croatia Airlines will boost its winter operations with the introduction of additional frequencies and new routes.

The Star Alliance member will strengthen its operations this coming winter season, commencing 29 October 2017, Ex-Yu Aviation reports.

Croatia Airlines will this year extend its previously seasonal flights from Zagreb to Barcelona and Lisbon into the winter months until 8 January 2018.

Barcelona

Flights to Barcelona will operate twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Sundays, whilst Croatia Airlines will operate between the Croatian and Portuguese Capitals on Mondays and Fridays through to January.

Croatia Airlines will use one of its Airbus A319 aircraft on both the Barcelona and Lisbon routes throughout the winter.

Croatia Airlines plans also to strengthen its Zagreb and Copenhagen route by adding another weekly flight to bring the total to seven. As previously reported, it will, however, cut back on its operations to London Heathrow Airport from nine to four per week after it sold five weekly slots to Delta Air Lines earlier this year.

Lisbon

Zagreb’s Christmas markets have been voted one of the best in Europe over the last two years, with a significant increase in the number of tourists to the capital over the winter period.
