Croatia Airlines Keen To Go Long-Haul

With cuts to short-haul routes announced recently as the company tries to restructure its way out of financial difficulty, the CEO of Croatia’s national carrier Croatia Airlines has said in an interview that Croatia Airlines is keen to add long-haul services outside of Europe to its network.

Kresimir Kucko said that with Croatia’s recent EU entry, some associated benefits came with it and that in the future the airline would like to offer long-haul services outside of its traditional European network. Croatia Airlines recently announced that it would cut several services, including Dubrovnik-Frankfurt, Dubrovnik-Paris, Zagreb-Istanbul and Zagreb-London Gatwick.  Kucko said that intercontinental expansion plans were still in the pipeline and that no date had been set. Focus on its current European network would be the number one priority still.
