The oldest living person in Croatia’s Split-Dalmatia County has just celebrated her 105th birthday…

Anđa Perić from Kotlenice near Dugopolje turned an incredible 105 this week, and after a hip operation in 2010, Baka Anđa says that she feels like a young girl again. Anđa says that she is often asked what is the secret to her longevity, but she does not know.

“I never thought that I would live this long. I never worried about it. I done all sorts of jobs, just I did not do much digging. This is what the good Lord wished,” said the sprightly centurion.

“She never says she ‘can not’. She loves to eat, she loves life,” daughter-in-law Iva said, a thought echoed by Anđa’s son Vlado.

“She loves living life, loves to eat. Her routine everyday is the same, how it was 10 years ago is how it still is today,” he said.

Happy Birthday, Baka Anđa

Baka Anđa has been showered with gifts for her birthday, including a gift of 5,000 kuna from the Split-Dalmatia County and 5,000 kuna from the Dugopolje Council.
