Ante Rebić out of Croatia’s matches against France and Sweden after dislocating elbow

AC Milan attacker Ante Rebić has dislocated his elbow on the weekend and will miss Croatia’s October matches against Switzerland, Sweden and France.

Zlatko Dalić has called up Dinamo Zagreb’s Mislav Oršić to replace Rebić for the away friendly match against Switzerland (7.10) and Nations League classes against Sweden (11.10) and France (14.10) in Zagreb.

“It is a dislocation of the left elbow, initial examinations indicate that there is no bone, but only soft tissue damage, which indicates that the treatment will be conservative and that surgery is not necessary. Unfortunately, Ante will not be available to coach Dalić for upcoming matches since the shortest recovery from an injury of this type takes two or three weeks. We are in constant contact with the Milan medical service and we will carefully monitor the course of Rebić’s recovery,” said the doctor of the Croatian national football team Dr. Zoran Bahtijarević.

27-year-old Oršić has three caps for Croatia after making his international senior debut on 9 September 2019 in a Euro 2020 qualifying match against Azerbaijan in Baku, ironically coming on as a substitute for Rebić in the 86th minute.
