Another High Profile Politician Arrested in Croatia for Corruption

Police on Tuesday have arrested former Croatian presidential candidate, Minister of Economy and current Chairman of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce Nadan Vidošević.
Vidošević, who has been the Croatian Chamber of Commerce Chairman since 1995, is suspected of siphoning 32 million kuna (4.2 million EUR) from the Chamber of Commerce. Police are searching the 53-year-old politicians apartment today, reports daily 24sata. Vidošević, a long-time member of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), joins a long list from the former ruling party who are currently being investigated for fraud and theft. Former Croatian Prime Minister and HDZ President Ivo Sanader is currently serving a 10-year jail sentence for taking bribes.Vidošević was the nations Minister of Economy from 1993 to 1995.
