ZAGREB, 17 Oct (Hina) – Croatia this week presented its Second Economic Survey, a mandatory prerequisite for accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development OECD, at a meeting of the Economic Development Review Committee at the OECD headquarters in Paris, the Finance Ministry reported.
OECD Economic Surveys are periodic reviews of member and non-member economies.
Reviews of member and some non-member economies are on a two-year cycle.
“During the Paris meeting, a productive discussion was held on Croatia’s current situation and progress in key areas, including the green transition with an emphasis on renewable energy sources, housing and energy efficiency, as well as demographic challenges,” the Ministry stated.
“The Committee highlighted that Croatia has made significant progress in all key areas and has successfully implemented the recommendations given in the First Economic Survey. It particularly commended the comprehensive reform efforts and the implementation of policies aimed at strengthening economic growth, resilience, and sustainable development.”
The adoption of the Second Economic Survey by the OECD, which is expected to take place in the coming period, will represent an important step towards Croatia’s full membership in the organisation and a confirmation of the government’s commitment to improving economic and social policies in line with the highest international practices and standards, the statement said.
The Croatian delegation was led by State Secretary at the Ministry, Stipe Župan, and included representatives of relevant state institutions involved in the design and implementation of reforms that formed the basis for the preparation of this document.
