Croatia to give grants to encourage return of Croats to Bosnia and Herzegovina

ZAGREB, 25 July 2025 (Hina) – Registered legal entities in Bosnia and Herzegovina have until 4 August to apply for financial support from the Croatian Ministry of Physical Planning, Construction and State Assets for projects aimed at encouraging the return of Croats to Bosnia and Herzegovina and improving living conditions in 2025.

This support is part of a public call for project proposals announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction Branko Bačić.

Eligible applicants include units of local self-government, utility companies owned by these units, non-profit public institutions established by the church, non-governmental organisations or local self-government units.

Applications can also be submitted by registered businesses, small enterprises, family farms, as well as educational, scientific, healthcare and social institutions.

Other legal entities operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina that serve the interests of Croats are also eligible.

The maximum support per project is 80,000 euros.

Projects eligible for co-financing include those related to economic development, small businesses, family farms, public administration, infrastructure and healthcare.

Also covered are projects in education, youth initiatives, demography, sports, culture, church organisations, and efforts to preserve heritage, identity and overall quality of life.

Applicants must be legally registered and active in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and their activities should aim to promote the interests and protection of Croats in the country.
