Croatia Airlines, in cooperation with the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) and the Zagreb Tourist Board (TZGZ), has officially launched its year-round service connecting Zagreb and Barcelona.

The new schedule was presented at a special event held in Barcelona.

Until now, the Zagreb–Barcelona route operated only during the summer season. From 26 October 2025, flights will now continue throughout the winter timetable, running until 28 March 2026.

Travellers will be able to fly between the two cities three times a week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

Speaking at the launch, Anamarija Jurinjak, Head of Marketing at Croatia Airlines, said that extending the service marks another step in strengthening ties between Croatia and Spain.

“By operating the Zagreb–Barcelona route year-round, we’re enhancing connectivity between the two countries and improving Zagreb’s accessibility as an increasingly significant European destination,” Jurinjak said.

“This move not only meets the expectations of our passengers but also contributes to the development of tourism and business mobility. We believe this route will become a bridge connecting two countries rich in culture, creativity, and openness. More Spaniards are discovering Croatia beyond the summer months, while Croatian travellers are increasingly drawn to Gaudí’s city for its blend of business, culture, and gastronomy,” she added.

Passengers on the route will also be able to experience Croatia Airlines’ new Airbus A220 aircraft, which offer enhanced comfort, greater efficiency, and improved environmental sustainability.

Croatia’s national carrier is also expanding its network this winter with increased frequencies and capacity across several international routes. In addition to Barcelona, direct flights from Zagreb to Berlin and Stockholm will also operate year-round.

During the upcoming winter timetable, Croatia Airlines plans to operate nearly 10,000 flights, offering around 1.18 million seats — a 7.7% increase in flights and 21% more seats compared to the same period last year.
