6th Straight Win Makes Croatians KHL’s Most Successful Ever Debutants

medvescakCroatia’s Zagreb-based KHL ice hockey team Medveščak have confirmed their status as the best debutants the KHL has ever seen with a 6:0 (3-0, 3-0, 0-0) thrashing of Republic of Tatarstan’s HC Neftekhimik in Zagreb on Monday night.

The win means the Mark French led side have now won their last six matches in a row and leaves then in 5th place in the Western Conference with 23 points, two points behind 3rd spot. Medveščak’s goal scorers last night were Charles Linget (7:39), Kurtis Foster (16:33), Matt Ellison (17:11), Jonathan Cheechoo (20:50), Matt Murley (30:37) and Patrick Bjorkstrand (31:55), whilst goaltender Barry Brust made 30 stops for his third ‘shutout’ in a row. Medveščak now face a challenging next couple of weeks with 13 out of the next 14 matches away.
