6th 100% Zagorsko Fair This Weekend

All that the rich and diverse offerings from one the most idyllic counties in Croatia will be on display on Zagreb’s main square when the 6th 100% Zagorsko Fair opens this week…

On 18 and 19 September on Zagreb’s Ban Jelačić square, products, crafts, food, wines and culture from the northern Krapina-Zagorje County will be showcased in the manifesto 100% Zagorsko – Fairytale in your palm.

The aim of the fair, which is now in its 6th year, is to help preserve the originality and tradition of products and culture from the Zagorje region in challenging modern market times.

The Krapina-Zagorje County encompasses most of the historic region called Hrvatsko Zagorje. and is a candidate for being the most idyllic county in Croatia: the many villages and small towns spread out across the hillsides are perfect for agriculture (vineyards in particular) and summer houses. Although beautiful, the many hills rivers, creeks and lakes through many valleys cause a peculiar effect throughout Zagorje: 15% of the year, fog significantly lowers visibility in the area.

Zagorje businesses, traditional crafts, rural tourism operators and cultural institutions will show the citizens of Zagreb, as well as tourists, the richness of its gastronomy, tradition, culture and recreational and religious tourism. Visitors will be able to taste indigenous delicacies, buy unique eco-friendly products, and also enjoy a rich two-day cultural programme.
