The 5th Festival of Salt will be held this year in Nin on Thursday 4th of August 2016. This unique salt festival is held in Nin’s salt works, which are one of the most exceptional salt pans in Europe as salt is still produced in a traditional way and harvested by hand like in Roman times.
The festival gives visitors a chance to see and get familiar with the salt production traditions in Nin, which is also the only eco-certified salt pan on the Adriatic. Visitors will be able to take part in competitions, prepare traditional dishes and enjoy in the entertainment on offer on the day and night.
There will once again be various educationals so visitors can learn all the details of producing salt and how salt come to the kitchen table.
