MUNICH, 16 January 2109 – Croatia maintained its unbeaten record at the 2019 IHF World Men’s Handball Championship on Wednesday with victory over Bahrain.

With points from the match not carrying forward and a main round spot practically assured, coach Lino Červar rested a number of key players against winless Bahrain in Munich on Wednesday.

Croatia showed their depth and ran away with the match 32-20 again in front of a large number of Croatian fans.

“This match is used as a warm-up and to get tactically ready for Spain, who we will analyse these next two days. Our aim is to take four points to the main round in Cologne,” Čevar said before the match.

Croatia will face Spain on Thursday in a match which will decide who wins Group B and how many points are carried forward into the main round.

Points from the preliminary round against the other qualified team are carried over into the main round group. The best two placed teams in each main round group will qualify for the semifinals.
