On June 1st in Riyadh, at the Matchroom vs. Queensberry: 5v5 event, undefeated Croatian heavyweight Filip Hrgović will step into the ring for the biggest fight of his career so far.

Hrgović, who is 17-0 with 14 KOs, will fight British boxer Daniel Dubois (20-2, 19 KO). The match was confirmed at today’s press conference in London.

It’s expected that the IBF title will remain vacant after Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk settle their rematch following their first bout on May 18th for the unified heavyweight titles.

Just two weeks later, according to Rafael, IBF will have a new champion crowned in the bout between Hrgović and Dubois.

Dubois represents the toughest challenge in Hrgović’s career yet. He’s a former WBA heavyweight champion who challenged Oleksandr Usyk last year in a bout for the unified WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO titles, losing to the Ukrainian in the ninth round.

Headlining the event in Saudi Arabia on June 1st will be the bout for the undisputed status in the light heavyweight category between the naturalized Canadian Artur Beterbiev and Russian Dmitriy Bivol.

The undercard of this event will feature matches based on the “5 vs. 5” concept, representing a showdown between two major British promotional companies: Matchroom Boxing, led by Eddie Hearn, and Queensberry Promotions, headed by Frank Warren.

Alongside Hrgović and Dubois, that night in the ring will also feature Deontay Wilder against Zhilei Zhang, Nick Ball against Raymond Ford for the WBA featherweight title, Craig Richards against Willy Hutchinson, and Ammo Williams against Hamzah Sheeraz.

Two captains will be selected, each able to bring in two points, while the other boxers will earn one point each for their promotional company through victories.
