ZAGREB,  6 June (Hina) – Italia Soccer Camp 2023, which will take place in Zagreb on 3-7 July, was presented earlier this week.

Football is an important sport, it teaches you to think together, not to be an individualist. It’s a picture of life, so let’s do our best to help children grow, said Italian football expert Arrigo Sacchi, the promoter of the project.

The Croatian national football team’s selector, Zlatko Dalić, attended the presentation.

“Football can raise only the right people. I wish everyone in the camp success and happiness. The children in the camp will have a beautiful experience and a beautiful opportunity. Maybe some of them will even realise their dream. The Croatian national team is an example that a dream can be realised,” he said.

The soccer camp is intended for children aged 8-14. The main partner of the project is Privredna Banka Zagreb (PBZ) as a member of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group. The project is also supported by the Generali insurance company.

About 100 children will participate in the camp for free, including those from the Zagreb Children’s Home and beneficiaries of programmes of the Growing Up Together Centre for Parenting Support, the local partner of The Human Safety Net, a humanitarian initiative founded by Generali.

“We actively support projects for youth and children, hospitals, education, sports and initiatives which can contribute to improving the quality of life of the community in which we participate,” said Dinko Lucić, PBZ management board president.

The Zagreb Children’s Home is the largest children’s home in Croatia, accommodating about 200 children and providing social services for 450 beneficiaries, children and their families, said Jasna Ćurković Keleva, the home’s director.
