Zeljko Mavrovic Postpones Return To Ring After Cracking Ribs

Legendary retired mohawked Croatian boxer Zeljko Mavrovic has announced that he is to postpone his return to the boxing ring after suffering cracked ribs in training on Friday.


Mavrovic was scheduled to return to boxing at the age of 43, 15 years after his last fight, later this month when he was due to fight Serbian Enad Licina in Hamburg, Germany on 27 April. No new date has been set for the fight.

Upon turning profession, Mavrovic became the boxing champion of Europe in 1995 and kept his title in 1996 and 1997 against seven opponents. In 1998, he went up against Lennox Lewis for the world heavyweight champion title, but lost after twelve rounds on points.
