Project 3 Mobility, the company behind Croatia’s forthcoming robotaxi service, has completed the production and testing of all 60 verification prototypes, marking a significant step on the road towards launching autonomous mobility in Zagreb.
The commercial debut is planned for spring 2026.
The company’s latest progress update confirms that continuous testing of autonomous driving systems is now under way in Zagreb, alongside other preparations needed before the service becomes operational.
These trials form part of the standard development cycle for a new vehicle, covering everything from individual systems to complete, fully integrated prototypes.
Project 3 Mobility’s work is supported by funding from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), under the project “Research, development and production of new mobility vehicles and supporting infrastructure.”
The creation and testing of the 60 verification prototypes was defined as one of the key indicators of progress within the NRRP framework.
To date, €89.7 million has been disbursed to the company through the programme, while private investment continues to flow in, totalling more than €104 million so far.
Mate Rimac shared the news with the public in a recent Facebook post.
“Zagreb is the first step, and then from Zagreb to the whole world. I hope we can all be a little more optimistic and trust each other a little more,” Rimac said.
