Where Dalmatia Begins: The young upholding Pag traditions

It is always wonderful to see and hear beautiful stories, and one such story comes to us from the island Pag. 

The Kissa Association has always been a support to young people. From the idea to its realisation, they wanted to show that with heart and love for the island, they can achieve so much and be a driving force for young people.

Once members of the Kissa Association, and now young entrepreneurs Morena, Frančeska, and Marta have jointly created a beautiful traditional story, accompanied by the stunning views of Pag.

Despite so many young people leaving, they decided to stay on the island and bravely venture into the world of entrepreneurship. 

Marta Buterin opened her own hair salon, Deja Vu, which is already well-known across the entire island and beyond. 

Frančeska Valentić is soon opening her own beauty salon, Valentić Beauty. 

“These young and enterprising individuals participated in our fashion story, where, against the beautiful locations of the city of Pag, alongside our beautiful Morena Buljanović and the dogs Pago and Fleka, they immortalised our tradition,” the Kissa Association said.

The idea is to show that even young people today cherish and proudly carry their tradition.

Three strands of pearls, a traditional headscarf tied around the waist, and ballet slippers added a special touch to the whole ensemble. Nanina’s traditional dress, which was taken out of the wardrobe just for the fashion piece, added a special touch.

“Is there a more beautiful story than that of these young people who preserve their tradition and take pride in it? They have chosen tradition to showcase their work. Of course, it couldn’t be without the Dalmatian dogs Pago and Fleka, who added a unique touch to the entire story, They are also a tradition and treasure that has been passed down to us, and which we should cherish… where Dalmatia begins,” they concluded.
