Vis Among Europe’s Top 10 Summer Hot Spots

-Leave the tour buses walled up in Dubrovnik and head to Vis, Croatia’s most remote island. The two-hour ferry ride from Split will be worth it, as you’ll be rewarded with amazing natural beauty, fantastic restaurants and cultural heritage. Get active with sea kayaking, hiking, sailing or caving, or lounge on the near-deserted beaches and then treat yourself to some fresh fish and local wine, as vineyards are abundant on the island... is how Yahoo Travel described the beautiful Croatian island of Vis when it revealed its recent Top 10 European Summer Hot Spots.

Vis, which is also home to one of the only cricket grounds in the world that boasts a vineyard on its boundary, joined the company of Smuggler’s Cove on Zakynthos in Greece, Gozo in Malta, Arezzo in Italy and El Hierro in Spain’s Canary Islands on the list.
