“Virtual Walks” on Croatian Streets as Google Street View Arrives

Google Street View, a technology that allows users to take virtual walks along the streets in cities and towns, is now available in Croatia, reports daily newspaper 24sata.

Croatia’s Minister of Tourism Veljko Ostojic will be in attendance today when Google Street View Croatia is officially launched. Although the official launch is on Wednesday, users from yesterday had the opportunity to “walk” the streets in Croatian towns and villages.

Google’s camera  has already covered a major part of Croatia and filming will continue to take place, so that even the tiny streets tucked away in some towns will be available. The new service will definitely help the nation’s tourism as foreigners will get a first hand realistic glimpse of the country. Street View is also available on Android applications.
