9 January 2019 – Snow has fallen across Croatia’s Dalmatia region overnight as temperatures plummeted.

More than 40 cm of snow has fallen in inland Dalmatia overnight, whilst there was snow also reported in the Pelješac area on the southern coast.

Most of inland Dalmatia was under snow on Wednesday morning. One of the most effected areas was Imotski, where schools have had to close on Wednesday, Jutarnji list reports.

There have also been reports of snow on the islands of Hvar, Brač and Šolta, in Klis and Dugopolje near Split, in Sinj, in the Pelješac region and in parts of Konavle not too far from Dubrovnik on the southern coast.

More snow is forecast for inland Dalmatia and in the south later in the day, whilst the northern Adriatic coast will remain dry.

Imotski was covered in a blanket of snow on Wednesday morning.
