The Croatian World Games, or Crolympics, which is an Olympics style competition for the Croatian diaspora, ended recently in Zagreb.

The Games, which have now been held five times – 2006 and 2010 in Zadar, and in 2014, 2017 and 2023 in Zagreb –  connects young Croats from all over the world through sports and cultural gatherings, and encourages them to cultivate their Croatian identity.

Over 900 competitors, coming from 27 countries around the world,  showcased their skills in ten sports over one week at the end of last month in the Croatian capital.

Katica Nikić and Caroline Spivak, who represented Team Canada in the Croatian World Games, were guests on the latest All Things Croatia podcast.

Katica, who played on the basketball team, and Caroline, whoo was team coordinator, talk about the “incredible week of games that took place in Zagreb” and reveal how you can participate at the next Croatian World Games.
