Croatian heavyweight Filip Hrgović has notched up his 14th win of his professional career on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
Hrgović record a third round win by TKO over Serbia-born German Emir Ahmatović.
Ahmatović started the fight more the aggressor in the opening round, trying landing some punches on his higher-ranked opponent. Hrgović slowly got into the fight and looked a lot more dangerous, even landing some good shots early on.
The Croatian stepped it up in the second round, twice forcing his opponent to get the count with strong punches. The third round did not last too long with Hrgović quickly knocking Ahmatović down. The ref did not even want to give him the count and he ended the fight.
Promoter Eddie Hearn promised the Croatian that the IBF eliminator fight will be next.
“I don’t know what is going on. You (Eddie Hearn) are the biggest promoter in the world. I hope you find someone to fight me, I am looking forward to big fights and I am ready for anyone. I know I have the quality and talent to become the best fighter in the world,” Hrgović said at the press conference before the fight.
