Croatian national teammate and coach Zlatko Dalic have recorded a video with instructions on how to behave during a coronavirus pandemic, with an important final message – to stay at home.

Captain Luka Modric, vice-captain Ivan Rakitic and the rest of the Vatreni were due to travel to Doha today for a friendly tournament, but instead are spending time at home with their loved ones because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Considering the gravity of the situation, the Croatian team decided to make a video and in cooperation with the Croatian Institute of Public Health, have sent instructions on how one can protect themselves during this pandemic with a clear message at the end from Modric to ‘stay at home’.

The Croatian Football Federation (HNS) has already shown an understanding of the gravity of the situation by reacting early and postponing all domestic football competitions. President Davor Suker and coach Dalic also opted for voluntary self-isolation after attending an event where a person infected was also at.

“We call on all citizens and organisations to the utmost accountability, seriousness and compliance with all measures prescribed by the competent state institutions in order to overcome this crisis together as soon as possible,” HNS said.
